Here is a description of my teaching practice and goals as a teacher, as well as some of the strategies that have worked well (and not so well) for me in achieving those goals.

I have taught the following courses as the primary instructor, where I was responsible for course design, grading, and instruction.

  1. Justice and the Future (Harvard University)

  2. Climate Ethics (Bowdoin College)

  3. Philosophical Foundations of Climate Change Policy (Middlebury College Winter Term; Harvard Pre-College Summer Program )

  4. Sports Ethics (Harvard University Pre-College Summer Program)

A favorite course review:

“I didn't initially register for this course... 7–10 PM is far too late for me to be focused. But when I didn't get some other classes I registered for, this one had open seats. And so I landed in my favorite class. Britta's ultramarathoner stamina carried us into the late hours of the night. My critical thinking improved significantly, as did my writing, and I looked forward to class (even at the end of a long Monday)! “
