Here is a description of my teaching practice and goals as a teacher, as well as some of the strategies that have worked well (and not so well) for me in achieving those goals.
I have taught the following courses as the primary instructor, where I was responsible for course design, grading, and instruction.
Justice and the Future (Harvard University)
Climate Ethics (Bowdoin College)
Philosophical Foundations of Climate Change Policy (Middlebury College Winter Term; Harvard Pre-College Summer Program )
Sports Ethics (Harvard University Pre-College Summer Program)
A favorite course review:
“I didn't initially register for this course... 7–10 PM is far too late for me to be focused. But when I didn't get some other classes I registered for, this one had open seats. And so I landed in my favorite class. Britta's ultramarathoner stamina carried us into the late hours of the night. My critical thinking improved significantly, as did my writing, and I looked forward to class (even at the end of a long Monday)! “
