Solar Geoengineering, Delay, and Addiction - A paper in which I show that several common arguments for solar geoengineering entail that the technology should be used to delay emissions reductions, despite claims that solar geoengineering should never be used for this purpose. I then show why we should reject those arguments.
The Uses and Abuses of Carbon Dioxide Removal - A paper about whether CDR should delay emissions reductions.
Constraints, Carbon Dioxide Removal, and Consumption - A paper about how to think about the assumption of ongoing economic growth in Integrated Assessment Models, and the relationship between growth and CDR.
What’s Wrong with Cooling Credits?- A paper about why we should be worried about markets in solar geoengineering.
Can Carbon Removal Make Climate Change Fair? - A paper where I argue that we should be wary of seeing CDR as a means to climate fairness.
Here is a description of how (many of) the above papers fit together. I’m always happy to share and discuss my work; please email me for drafts.
